Share the Vision

Hi Everyone!
It's been a beautiful summer! I don't think I've ever experienced a more beautiful, perfect summer in Rochester (though I've only been here for 6 Rochester summers). I hope you're enjoying it and getting to spend a lot of time outside.

We've also had a great time in the Prayer Room this summer. Despite vacations and college students home for the summer, we have had a steady full prayer time together. If you haven't been in awhile, I want to invite you to come down this Friday night for a special "Share the Vision" night. This month is the 2-year anniversary of when we started Onething Rochester and we want to celebrate what God had done, where we've come from, and talk about where we see the Lord taking us. We'll spend some extra time in the beginning sharing our group's testimony and sharing personal stories of what we've seen the Lord do in the last 2 years. Then there'll be opportunity to pray, worship, and hang out together in the Presence of the Lord.

Come on down, this Friday night, August 17th at 9 pm!

A Night in the Prayer Room

We came in tonight in a flurry of activity & busyness. We were late coming in to set up and we all rushed about to get ready. Frustrations & annoyance with each other grew. I went to make copies of the music for the night, feeling rushed & irritated. When I came back one of our leaders was in the main sanctuary trying to "cool off" as the tensions had peaked. When I went back into the prayer room, even though other people had already arrived, I pulled the leaders aside to pray. We needed to back up and start off the night right...We started, then, corporately, by just simply praying in a circle, allowing some time to breathe. Jenn & Christina got us started with welcomes and Scripture focus. By request, we start worship with an a cappella version of "Trading My Sorrows" and it takes off from there...
What a night!
I write in my journal, "I could burst with joy & pleasure at the worship & prayer that is happening."
Aaron plays harmonica and adds backup vocals as Christine leads on keyboard.
Jenn & Jenny are reading Scripture & praying into the microphone.
Heidi leads us in singing lines of Scripture.
Jordan is back & forth between the drum set & his djembe drum.
What a night!
I write, "What JOY You must have in your heart Lord as you look upon us...Oh, I could burst with joy & pride at how we are growing, stepping out, and being stretched to higher, creative places in You."
Jenny with flags. A guy face-down on the floor.
Aaron sets up a 4th microphone (they are all being used!)
I chuckle to myself as we constantly adjust and move about while continuing on in worship.
3 of the girls in the room are "facing the wall" (Don Potterism) in worship & prayer.
A new guy comes in. His first time, and I wonder what he thinks of all this.
Now Christina is singing! Go Christina! Yes!
Jenn and I exchange knowing looks. We can't keep from laughing in joy & wonder.
Dan steadily strums guitar chords.
Aaron "ooohs," singing into his specially set up microphone.
Anthony paces.
It's quarter to midnight. We wind down with intercession for the city, the music gradually & steadily trails off...
Christina closes in prayer.
We end with smiles & laughter, in awe of the place we had just entered--into the Awesome, Holy Presence of God.
What a night!

40 Day Fast May 28-07/07/07

To our Onething Rochester Friends:

On the evening of May 28, Christians across the nation will begin a 40-day Fast to seek God and turn our hearts back to Him on behalf of our country. This will be a fast to prepare us and lead us to TheCall Nashville on 07-07-07. On this date Lou Engle & TheCall have called a "solemn assembly" (see Joel 2) of fasting & prayer joined by hundreds of thousands of people from across the nation & even the world.

We invite you to participate in this time of fasting with us. I am including links to 40-day prayer focuses thru Lou Engle & Chuck Pierce. Please use them as a guide & for encouragement in this time.

We are looking forward to uniting together with so many other Christians around the nation in this season. Please consider joining us in the prayer room at Bethel (321 East Ave.) on Friday nights this month. We'll be there 9 pm-midnight. In addition, many of us are choosing to fast 1 or a combination of media, 1 meal per day, meat, sweets, or will participate in a Daniel fast (see www.fastandpray.com for details). Please consider joining us in this.

This is an incredible time in history! May the Holy Spirit strengthen & encourage us together, and may the God of heaven turn His ear to our prayers and pour out His Spirit on His people!
Blessings, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

"This is your life: Are you who you want to be?"

Recently, a prophetic word came through Kim Clement in which the LORD says:
"Ask of Me, and I shall give it to you. Do you want the nations? I will give it as an inheritance. What do you want from Me?" says the Spirit of God. "I have torn away the veil; I have torn it away. I have torn it down so that you may enter into a new life and a new dimension" (www.elijahlist.com, 2/5/07).
As I read this, I was so taken aback by the Lord's question, "What do you want from Me?" It seems such an open, plaintive question like a Dad just opening his arms to say, "What can I do for you, tell me, and it's yours." You mean I can just tell you Lord, the God of the Universe, what I want?! And His answer back is: "Yes, that's what I've been waiting for. And believe Me, I am able to do exceedingly, abundandtly above all that you ask or dream" (Eph. 3:20).
So what would you ask of Him? What are your dreams, your desires? What do you want to do? Who do you want to become? What do you want to know, what kind of deep revelation would you want Him to reveal to you? It's such a simple question, but not always a simple answer to give, as you're thinking about the deepest desires of your heart and soul.

And as you think of your personal dreams and desires, what can and should we ask of Him corporately? Together, we are an intercessory group, established of God in Rochester, NY for such a time as this. The Lord has given us a mission to seek, to "encounter Him, and intercede for our generation."
"Ask of Me," He says, "and I will give you the Nations as an inheritance and the ends of the earth for your possession" (Ps. 2:8).
If you can come this Friday night or a Friday in the future, please come with big dreams and pure desires to intercede and ask of Him for our generation in Rochester, America, and the Nations!

"LET'S GET READY TO RUMMM-BBBBLLLE!"

Hello Onething Folks!

Happy New Year! Wow, it is already 2007! There seems to be such a sense of excitement and joy for starting a new year. What great things are around the corner for the Church, and our generation, and esp. our Friday Night Prayer group, Onething Rochester? I think it's a time to DREAM BIG and EXPECT wonderful things to happen...

To help jump-start your year, plan to come to the School of the Spirit at Bethel this Friday, January 12th @ 7 p.m. Larry Randolph will be our special guest. Larry's Bio states, " Larry's strong prophetic gift combined with a practical and humorous style of teaching has given many people a fresh perspective of their destiny. Larry's diverse life experiences allow him to relate on almost anyone's level, and his strong teaching anointing enables him to make complex spiritual truths understandable. Recognizing this as a new day in the Church, Larry has a heart to father the emerging generation and challenge them to a deeper life of intimacy in Christ."

It's going to be an awesome night of teaching, refreshing, and impartation. You can also sign up to get personal prophetic ministry from one of the School of the Spirit teams.
We'll meet in the prayer room following the service, approx. 10 p.m.

Happy New Year, & Blessings to you all!
Katie
